Our Franchising team has acted for an individual in relation to the uptake of numerous Pizza Hut franchises.
In one particular instance the client was taking on a sub-lease from Pizza Hut. We advised our client on the underlying title to the property, the terms of the head lease and the sub-lease. Unusually this was taking place within a new development which was being built on an old petrol station site. We advised our client to minimise risk with regard to potential contamination issues.
Our Construction team also reviewed the building documents and was able to ensure our client had sufficient rights of recourse against the builder if there were defects.
In addition, we reviewed the franchise agreement, and advised on its legal implications and if it was typical in this type of franchise.
This franchise has now been running successfully for a number of years. As it has grown, we have continued to provide a wide range of services to this client including advice on employment and dispute resolution matters. The client recently stated:
Andrew Pollard – Pizza Hut Franchisee“I have used Lindsays to handle my legal needs in relation to the purchase of multiple Pizza Hut franchises. Its Franchising team provides all the legal services that a franchise or growing business could possibly require in addition to sound commercial advice.
Despite my varied legal requirements, Susan Law remains my principle contact at Lindsays and she has successfully coordinated many transactions on my behalf. I trust her to look after my legal needs, leaving me to get on with other business. I would highly recommend Lindsays to any franchisee, as no matter the situation, complexity or timescale, the team always seems to come up with a solution to get the deal done.”
