We have recently been advising our client, Rank Group plc, and their group companies on the provision of new Adult Gaming Centres within premises previously operated in whole by Mecca Bingo Limited (part of the Rank group).
We have made applications for:
- Variation of premises licences issued under the Gambling Act 2005
- Variations under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005
- Applications for new premises licences for Adult Gaming Centres
Given the unusual nature of these applications we have had to address Licensing Boards on the legalities relating to split premises licences and brief them on the Gambling Commission’s Licensing Conditions and Code of Practice. Guidance was even issued by the Gambling Commission itself on split premises licensing, primary purpose and the ethos of the Gambling Act 2005.
