Following on from our 2011 series of breakfast seminars we are hosting a Spring series which will give you a further update on some of the current developments in this fast moving area of the law and practical guidance on how to deal with employment issues.
Social Networking
With an ever increasing number of reported Tribunal cases concerning the misuse of social media sites by employees, Ben Doherty and Julie Sabba will examine the issues arising from the use and abuse of email and the internet, including websites such as Facebook and Linkedin, by employees. The team will highlight the legal risks involved with employee monitoring and, by using a case study, will provide guidance on how best to minimise those risks.

Employment Law Update
With the latest legislative changes due on 6th April, including an extension to the period required before an employee can claim unfair dismissal and the possible introduction of protected conversations, Julie Sabba and Ben Doherty will examine the impact these changes may have on employment law practice. Misconduct Disciplinary Process
Using an interactive case study the team will provide guidance on how best to investigate an allegation of misconduct and how to subsequently conduct a disciplinary hearing. Using recent case law and their considerable experience in the Employment Tribunal, the team will give real life examples of how best to reduce the risk of a successful unfair dismissal claim.
