Karen Jack, a key member of the award-winning Family Law team at Lindsays, has been accredited as a specialist in Child Law and Family Law by the Law Society of Scotland.
Karen, who is based in North Berwick, advises clients on all aspects of family law including divorce and separation, financial provision including pension share arrangements, protection orders, and child related issues such as residence and contact, parental rights and responsibilities and relocation. She also has considerable experience in adoption and guardianship cases.
Karen is regularly appointed to represent children’s interests in adoption, permanence orders and applications for parental rights by local authorities and applications under the Human Embryo and Fertilisation legislation.
She is also appointed to represent the interests of incapacitated adults in Sheriff Court cases, and is a legal representative for children and relevant persons at Children’s hearings in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian. She is also the honorary legal adviser to East Lothian’s Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
The Family Law team at Lindsays, led by Lesley Gordon, was named the Family Law Team of the year at the 2012 Scottish Legal Awards. Karen and John Fotheringham, a Director at Lindsays, are two of only ten solicitors who are accredited as specialists in both Child law and Family law by the Law Society of Scotland.
