Our personal injury team achieved a settlement of £4,000 for a boy who broke his foot during a gym class when the teacher left the room unattended
During a school gym class, the teacher left the room unattended. John was on a step machine and had not been shown how the piece of equipment worked and as a result, when trying to stop the machine and get off, his foot got trapped in the frame of the machine and he suffered from a broken foot.
How we helped John
We notified a claim to the Education Authority, but their insurers then refused to accept liability. Accordingly we raised Court proceedings on behalf of John. We instructed an orthopaedic report regarding John’s foot injury, and very soon after raising proceedings the insurers agreed to settle the claim.
John’s mother, Yvette said;
I was grateful to Lindsays for taking my son’s case. They persevered with John’s case even when the insurers would not accept liability and I was impressed with the way they negotiated a quick settlement... I would recommend Lindsays to any parent whose child has suffered injury at school
