Professional experience

Alistair is a highly experienced Litigation partner and specialises in contentious matters. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session and Tribunals, acting on behalf of a wide range of clients including companies, public sector organisations, trade bodies and private individuals. He also provides guidance to clients on dispute resolution and legislative developments and has represented clients at Courts and Public Inquiries all over Scotland.

Alistair enjoys a solid reputation in the field of family law. He has a strong track record in relation to financial aspects of divorce and separation and is also a part-time Tribunal Judge of Child Support and Social Security Appeal Tribunals. Alistair is trained as a Mediator and is a member of the Scottish Collaborative Family Law Group.

Alistair also has many years experience of representing road haulage and PSV operator clients at Traffic Commissioner’s Public Inquiries and in road haulage and PSV-related prosecutions.

Alistair is recognised by the Chambers and Partners 2011 directory as a 'Leader in his Field'.

  • Representation in commercial vehicle prosecutions including construction and use, overloading and driver’s hours offences.
