Professional experience

David is Head of our Private Client team and the Chairman of Lindsays. David is a partner in the firm’s Private Client team and legal adviser to many individuals and their families.

He specialises in asset protection for clients through pre and post-death inheritance tax planning, wills and the administration of estates, powers of attorney and the creation, administration and distribution of trusts.

David also has wide experience as a charity lawyer. He advises a substantial number of Scottish based charities, assisting in the setting up and running of charities, the management of charitable trusts and governance, legal and investment matters.

David chairs the Board of Trustees at The Sick Kids Friends Foundation, the very well-respected and important charity which raises over £1 million a year to support the invaluable work done for sick kids at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

He also acts as Scottish Trustee on the Marine Conservation Society, a UK-wide charity whose objectives are the protection of our seas, shores and wildlife.
