Professional experience

Simone heads up Lindsays' Construction department and specialises in all aspects of non-contentious construction law. She has extensive experience in acting for all parties involved in the construction sector, with a particular emphasis on developers, funders and institutional investors.

Simone regularly advises clients upon both standard form and bespoke construction contracts, and is involved in drafting and negotiating all forms of construction documentation.

Credential highlights

• Advising Edinburgh University in connection with building contracts and professional appointments required for creation of a publicly-funded research facility in Edinburgh.
• Advising Heriot-Watt University in connection with the campus co-location with Borders College in Galashiels, involving advising regarding the terms of development agreements, multiple building contracts, professional appointments and collateral warranties.
• Advising Rosslyn Chapel Trust in relation to their £9m restoration of Rosslyn Chapel and the construction of a state-of-the art visitor’s centre.
• Advising contractor client in connection with building contract with Glasgow City Council relating to the extension of the M74 in Glasgow.
• Advising the Scottish Youth Hostel Association on the £4m refurbishment of a historic Edinburgh property to create Scotland’s first 5-Star hostel.
• Advising clients on terms of SBCC contracts and bespoke professional appointments required for the construction of significant projects including: A multi-million pound office, leisure and residential development in Edinburgh and a new-build multi-tenanted retail outlet at Loch Lomond.
