Investing in sport in Scotland
In addition to providing legal advice to sports clubs and organisations, we support Scottish sport through our long-running partnership with scottishathletics. Since 2014 we’ve supported the Scottish Cross Country Season, which benefits local clubs and encourages grassroots participation. We’re thrilled to be extending our support to 2029.
In 2025, we announced the expansion of our athletics sponsorship to include a road race series, which sees seven events in the Scottish National Championships branded as the Lindsays Road Race Series.
We’re also pleased to have extended our sponsorship of Scottish distance runner Eilish McColgan until 2029.
Eilish and her partner, Michael Rimmer, launched Giving Back to Track a number of years ago to remove the financial barriers Scottish children face getting into athletics. The initiative, which we will continue to sponsor until 2029, supports after-school clubs and offers scholarship opportunities for Scottish female athletes.
Backing four-time Olympian Eilish McColgan
Since 2013, we’ve been proud to sponsor four-time Olympian Eilish McColgan. During that time, she’s won numerous medals and set records over multiple distances. From record times in the 5,000m to the London Marathon, Eilish’s list of achievements include a gold medal in the 10,000m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Elite champion across track and road
Dundee-born Eilish McColgan made her Olympic debut at the 2012 London Olympics. Having since competed in three more Olympic Games, Eilish continues to win medals, set records, and achieve personal bests. Her video updates and blogs for Lindsays offer fascinating insights into her goals and training routines.
Other sponsorships
We sponsor a variety of activities in our communities. These include art events, agricultural shows, local festivals such as the Crieff Food Fest, curling activities in Dundee and Angus, and Abertay University’s Dare Academy.
ArTay
Since 2024, we’ve proudly sponsored ArTay, one of Scotland’s largest exhibitions of contemporary art, staged as part of the annual Perth Festival of the Arts.
Curated by Frames Gallery and held in a marquee beside Perth Concert Hall, ArTay brings together more than 100 artists from across Scotland, showcasing over 400 works spanning a range of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewellery and more. Now a well-established highlight of the festival, it continues to grow in both scale and reputation.
As we strengthen our presence in Perth, we’re delighted to support an exhibition that celebrates the creativity and vibrancy of the city while providing an important platform for artists at all stages of their careers. The event also attracts visitors, helping to support the wider local economy. If you’ve not been to ArTay before, it’s well worth a visit!
Curling league
Lindsays sponsors the Lindsays League for curling clubs around Dundee and Forfar. With several of our colleagues also playing in the league, we’re proud to support curling’s development across Tayside, while also honing our own skills in the sport.
Dare Academy
For many years, Lindsays has sponsored the Dare Academy – Abertay University’s computer games design competition for students. Our lawyers advise the teams on key legal matters, such as corporate and employment issues which could underpin their future commercial success.
Lawscot Foundation
Lindsays supports the Lawscot Foundation, the Law Society of Scotland’s social mobility charity, through a five-year sponsorship established in 2026.
Our support helps provide funding, mentoring and career development opportunities to aspiring lawyers facing socioeconomic barriers.
