Current opportunities
Life at Lindsays
Life at Lindsays is collaborative, challenging and rewarding. We want our people to thrive – both inside and outside the office, in every role, and at every stage of their career. We support this through our culture, development opportunities, working practices, and benefits package.
A career journey that’s tailored to you
Everyone’s career journey at Lindsays is different.
We have lawyers who joined us as trainees and are now Partners, lawyers who switched from other careers or worked as paralegals, and senior lawyers – attracted by our culture – who joined us from other firms. Different backgrounds, shared goals, all looking to Lindsays to meet their career goals.
As a Partner in our Corporate team recently put it, law is all about people and how to help them achieve their goals. We feel the same about our lawyers too – whether you’re joining us as a trainee or a Partner moving from another firm, we want you to succeed.
We recognise that no two lawyers’ aims are identical, but we do understand what helps to attract talented, ambitious people to Lindsays and keep them here as their careers and experience progress:
- Opportunities to develop, through varied work, a strong client base, and excellent access to CPD, soft skills training, professional networks, and informal support.
- A positive culture, where colleagues are welcoming, collaborative and happy to share work, knowledge, and experience.
- Respect for work-life balance, with openness to people working flexible hours or locations, where it fits with the needs of the business. We do not promote a long-hours culture, and we even have Partners who work part-time.
- Life beyond the desk, from charity fundraisers to sports clubs and seasonal drinks, we work hard but we also spend time together.
- Support for good causes, everyone is encouraged to volunteer for charities and causes they care about, including acting as trustees or board members during working hours.
- Attractive benefits, which include a competitive salary, generous leave, and structured support for training and development.
Lindsays Links
As an early-stage lawyer, you’re probably keen to build up your professional network, and we support this through our Lindsays Links initiative.
This involves a regular programme of events across our offices, hosted by our newly qualified lawyers and trainees with support from the wider team.
It’s a straightforward, relaxed introduction to networking and provides connections that will be useful throughout your career.
Our senior solicitors often say that the connections they made in the first years of their career remain valuable sources of work and referrals years, even decades later.
Through Lindsays Links, we’re making that possible for the next generations of solicitors and professionals too.
We launched the initiative in 2023 with a networking event, called ‘A guide to being a grown-up’, aimed at our trainees, newly qualified solicitors, and their connections. Since then, our programme has grown to include a variety of events – from a Burns Night quiz to summer drinks – across our different offices.
As a trainee or a newly qualified solicitor, you’ll invite your own contacts – from surveyors and land agents to financial advisors and wealth managers – while also meeting contacts brought by your peers. Events typically attract around 40 people.
In addition to expanding professional networks, it’s an opportunity to practise networking skills in a setting where everyone is at a similar career stage.
For every event, we provide hosts with full support – from invites and guest updates, to tips on hosting, following up with new contacts, and learning from previous events.
