We have a great opportunity for an experienced litigator to join our well-established team. You will advise our clients on a wide range of contentious matters, with a particular focus on commercial disputes. Property litigation experience is essential. Insolvency expertise would be beneficial. Working with a supportive team, there will be opportunities to develop expertise in other contentious specialisms - whether building on experience you already have or broadening your practice into entirely new areas. You can expect to be involved in Sheriff Court and Court of Session actions, as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution.
This is a permanent role with core hours of 9am - 5pm (flexible).
Key responsibilities include:
- Provision of a high-quality dispute resolution service to our clients.
- Maintaining regular client contact and addressing their needs and requirements.
- Managing a busy and varied caseload.
- Appearing at Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland, whether remotely or in person.
- Supervising and mentoring trainees and recently qualified solicitors.
- Recording all time and generating appropriate levels of fee income.
- Undertaking regular file reviews.
- Keeping up to date with developments in the law and regulatory requirements.
- Attending and/ or contributing to internal and external seminars.
- Developing expertise in key areas to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
- Contributing legal up-dates and analysis to the firm’s website and trade press.
- Active participation in a range of business development initiatives.
