Dundee Bairns
Colleagues in our Dundee office have supported children’s charity Dundee Bairns through fundraising and donations, including hosting a quiz night and organising donations for its Christmas appeal.
Dundee Bairns is dedicated to helping children living in poverty in Dundee, through the provision of food, clothing, household essentials, and activities such as holiday clubs. The link between the charity and our team in Dundee began when Associate Joanna Saigeon joined its board as a trustee, keen to play a part in addressing child poverty in her home city.
“I love Dundee, and I love helping people if I can, so as well as contributing to the board, I use my networks in Lindsays and around Dundee to support Dundee Bairns,” explains Joanna.
“My colleagues and I meet a lot of people in our roles, so we can spread the news and raise awareness of its work. At the quiz, for example, we brought together our contacts from other professional firms and the community and raised an impressive £1,190.
“The Dundee office also supported Dundee Bairns’ Christmas appeal for essential items – such as toiletries – and gifts. People really came together, and I ended up filling a car and a half of donations to deliver to the charity!”
Joanna continues,
“In addition, Lindsays are very flexible about when I attend board meetings, and I’ve also had a lot of support from colleagues – from our Head of Charities and Third Sector taking the time to speak with me about my role and responsibilities as a charities trustee, to colleagues in our Corporate team advising me on an issue the board were unsure about. There’s always somebody at the end of the phone to provide advice when I need it.”
