The cultural, social and economic benefits of Perth’s growing arts scene have been celebrated as this year’s arTay exhibition gets underway.
Guests enjoyed one of Scotland’s largest shows of contemporary art - showcasing work by artists from across the country - at a special reception hosted by Lindsays held at the arTay marquee by Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 21 May.

Curated by Frames Gallery, the tented exhibition at the Concert Hall has been described as “truly unique”, featuring more than 400 works, including paintings, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, woodwork, glass and jewellery.
It features many well-known local artists and established artists from across Scotland, as well as those beginning their careers.
Staged as part of Perth Festival of the Arts, arTay - which continues through to Sunday 24 May - has grown into a popular feature in the Concert Hall’s outdoor plaza. It is open throughout the day until evening concerts begin.
Yesterday’s opening evening reception was attended by people from across Perth’s business and cultural community, as well as artists including Claire Harkess, Fiona Sturrock, Astrid Leeson, Lynn McGregor and Mike Maxwell.
Hugh Goring, the curator of Frames Gallery and Director of the Festival Board said: “We're delighted and grateful to celebrate our third year of partnership between arTay at Perth Festival of the Arts and Lindsays.
Their support has enabled us to sustain and develop this extraordinary exhibition. arTay 2026 will involve a record number of artists, with 110 visual artists displaying over 400 works. It gives a great platform to both local and Scotland-based artists and offers visitors a huge variety of art to explore.
Lindsays continued support for arTay comes as we invest further in our Perth presence.
We located our 30-strong city team from Blackfriars Street to a modern space on Whitefriars Street in December, a move which represents not just our commitment to Perth, but our confidence in the potential for further growth in the region as Lindsays advises growing numbers of people, families, businesses and other organisations across Perthshire and throughout Tayside.
