The 2026 Lindsays Road Race Series is officially underway and we’re thrilled to see it begin in such inspiring fashion.
National medals were contested in the Highlands last weekend as the Inverness Half Marathon hosted the Lindsays Scottish Half Marathon Championships, marking the first of seven championship events we are supporting throughout the year.
Last September we extended our long-standing relationship with scottishathletics into road racing which represented an exciting new chapter for us. Having supported the Cross Country Season for many years, we’ve seen first-hand how Scotland’s running community continues to grow in strength, participation and enthusiasm. Expanding our sponsorship to include road racing felt like a natural next step - one that allows us to help nurture that same sense of camaraderie and competition across even more disciplines.
This weekend, attention turns to the Lindsays Young Athletes Road Races in Greenock, followed shortly by the Lindsays National Road Relays in Livingston on Saturday 21 March. These events further highlight the depth of talent and dedication across clubs, coaches, volunteers and athletes of all ages.
Ian Beattie, our Chief Operating Officer, said. “We are delighted to have expanded our partnership with Scottish Athletics to support the road race series this year and it is exciting to see these races now getting underway.
Having sponsored the Scottish Cross Country Season for so many years and seeing the success and growth of that community, it does feel like a natural progression for us to get involved and support road racing too.
Colin Hutchison, Chief Executive of scottishathletics said: “I am absolutely delighted to confirm this superb sponsorship support from Lindsays.
It has now been a long-standing agreement for cross country and I think everyone will have noticed the growth in profile of our big events there.
“But now the partnership will evolve even more with a series of Scottish Road Race Championships coming under the Lindsays brand and banner.
“I think it makes perfect sense because the audience – of athletes, clubs, coaches and volunteers – is very similar.
“I want to thank Lindsays for this support – it is very much appreciated by ourselves and our clubs.”
As the series unfolds, we look forward to celebrating performances, supporting athletes and clubs across the country.
