Lindsays is continuing its growth with a merger with Glasgow-based legal practice Dallas McMillan, effective from 1 September.
We are pleased to be taking this step in our strategic expansion, strengthening our presence in Glasgow and bringing more clients and colleagues into the firm.
Through the merger, Dallas McMillan’s partners and staff will join Lindsays, with their clients benefiting from access to a broader range of legal services across our combined business.
Strengthening our presence in Glasgow
Our Glasgow team will grow significantly as a result of the merger, increasing from 80 to 123 people. Across the firm, our total headcount will rise to 417, spanning our offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth and Crieff.
All Glasgow staff will operate from the firm’s Queen Street office in the city centre.
Dallas McMillan brings expertise across a range of areas including personal injury, employment law, commercial property, corporate matters and residential conveyancing – further strengthening the services we offer to clients.
A natural next step in our growth
This merger builds on a long track record of sustainable growth at Lindsays, following previous mergers with Shield & Kyd, MacLachlan & MacKenzie, RSB Macdonald, Aitken Nairn, Hadden Rankin and Miller Hendry.
It also follows a period of continued investment in our Glasgow presence, including the addition of a Rural – Land and Business team earlier this year, alongside senior hires in our Private Client and Commercial Property teams.
Bringing together shared values
Andrew Diamond, Managing Partner at Lindsays, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the team from Dallas McMillan to the Lindsays family and to continue our path of strategic, sustainable growth through this merger.
"We are committed to expanding our presence in Glasgow and have been seeking the right fit for some time. This brings together good people and good clients, with strong synergies between our firms. It is an exciting step forward, further strengthening our position as a Scotland-wide firm, operating from four cities."
From Dallas McMillan’s perspective, the merger represents a strong cultural and strategic fit. David McElroy, Managing Partner of Dallas McMillan said: “We have long been admirers of Lindsays’ way of doing business and the way in which it has grown in recent years, while remaining true to its people-centred principals.
"This feels like the right move for us and our clients, who will benefit from access to a wider range of legal services, while our colleagues gain broader opportunities within a larger firm that retains a close-knit and supportive culture.”
What happens next
All Dallas McMillan partners and staff will transfer to Lindsays.
Following completion of the merger, the enlarged firm will continue to operate under the Lindsays name.
