We are delighted to announce our continuing sponsorship of DARE Academy, Abertay University’s acclaimed video game development competition to uncover the next generation of Scottish games creators.
Now in our ninth year of supporting the annual gaming design competition, we are proud to help nurture the next generation of games creators, equipping them with the legal and commercial insight needed alongside their technical expertise to turn innovative ideas into thriving businesses.
This summer, six teams of Abertay undergraduate students will develop original game prototypes as they compete for the top prize of £5,000 and the opportunity to showcase their work.
The competition is designed to mirror the realities of the games industry. Students work together across the disciplines of the courses offered by the School of Design and Informatics, collaborating to produce a new game under time pressure.
As part of our ongoing support, our lawyers will share practical guidance regarding the legalities of the games industry, offering tips and guidance on key corporate and employment matters.
This week, we join the finalists of this year’s competition for a joint hot-housing session with fellow sponsors, Henderson Loggie.
