His experience covers both commercial and regulatory disputes, ranging from contractual and company matters, to intellectual property, pensions, procurement challenges, and human rights.
A Solicitor Advocate since 2002, he holds a Masters in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. In every situation, Brent is passionate about reaching the best outcome for each client, whether that means going before a judge, an arbitrator, a mediator, or sorting it out through some straightforward talking.
Brent is regularly invited by national media to comment or give guidance about legal issues and new and developing legislation.

- Brent was featured in the Times newspaper in April 2021 as Scottish lawyer of the week following a judicial review for 27 church leaders who successfully challenged the Scottish Government's unlawful blanket ban on public worship
- Recently obtaining injunctive relief in the Court of Session to protect the intellectual property rights of a client whose supplies robotic technology globally to off-shore operators
- Successfully defending the first prosecution under the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024 where the court ruled that there had been an unlawful interference with the client’s EHCR Article 10 right to freedom of expression
- Acting for a prominent businessman in the Takeover Panel's litigation to pursue enforcement of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers
- Representing the British Boxing Board of Control in a Fatal Accident Inquiry

- Recovering US-generated spring board profits through the Scottish courts for a global agrochemical client whose patent was infringed in the UK
- Recovering confidential information via legal ‘dawn raids’ after obtaining orders from the Scottish courts
