Sophie has over a decade of experience of supporting businesses, charities, and individuals on a full range of employment law issues

Sophie Macphail is a Senior Associate in our Employment Law team, based in our Edinburgh office.

Sophie has specialised in employment law since 2015 and advises a wide range of clients including charities, SMEs, and individuals. She enjoys working closely with clients across the lifespan of the employment relationship, and regularly advises on disciplinaries, redundancies, absence and performance management, contractual matters, negotiated exits, and settlement agreements.

Sophie has also represented clients at Employment Tribunals in Scotland and has experience of cases relating to employment status.

Sophie is a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Equalities Law Committee and a voluntary trustee at the Edinburgh charity, the Pregnancy and Parents Centre.
