We were pleased to host the recent STEP Scotland Branch Discussion Group at our Dundee office, welcoming professional advisers who work with families, individuals and trustees across generations.

The session brought people together for practical discussion, shared experience and useful connections. It was a good reminder of the value of learning from one another, especially in an area of work where judgement, care and clarity matter.

At Lindsays, we’re proud to have 21 people in our Private Client Services team who are either working towards STEP qualifications or are full members. Their achievements include four Excellence Awards, 17 Distinctions and five Merits across subjects including trusts, tax, accounting and executry accounting.

This year and last year, our team has achieved coveted Worldwide Excellence awards - Gail Taylor (Executry and Trusts Assistant) was recently awarded this accolade for achieving the highest pass, with distinction, in the STEP Advanced Certificate in Trust and Executry Accounting; and Caitlin Connolly (Senior Associate) was also granted a Worldwide Excellence Award last year as the highest-scoring diploma graduate for the Advanced Certificate in Wills and Executries.

We value STEP qualifications because they give clients added reassurance. They reflect specialist knowledge, ongoing learning and a commitment to doing things carefully and well, particularly when advising on personal, family and succession matters.

For our team, STEP membership also provides a strong professional community. It supports collaboration, keeps knowledge current and helps us continue to provide clear, grounded advice when clients need it most.

Thank you to STEP Scotland Branch and to everyone who joined us in Dundee. We were delighted to host the discussion and look forward to continuing to support the STEP community in Scotland.
