Job Title: Commercial Property Senior Solicitor / Associate
PQE: 4-6 years
Department: Commercial Property
Location: Edinburgh - this role is predominantly office based however, depending on experience, there may be the option to work from home on a limited basis.
Working hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (35 hours per week)
Reporting to: Commercial Property Partner
Job type : Permanent

The role:
We have a great opportunity for a Commercial Property Senior Solicitor to join the Edinburgh team to provide a quality service to clients principally in the sale and purchase of commercial property, commercial leasing, site acquisitions, development work, security transactions and general property advice. Appropriate training and supervision will be provided and some of the main duties would include:
- The purchase and sale of commercial property including drafting and negotiating missives, development and option agreements, examining and reporting on title, dealing with conveyancing elements etc
- Leasing of commercial property for both landlords and tenants
- Dealing with security transactions for lenders and borrowers
- Develop the Firm’s Commercial Property and wider commercial business, including marketing to existing and prospective clients
- Raise personal and the Firm’s profile at networking events
- Ensure knowledge is up to date in relation to the services available to clients across the Firm as a whole and the various service sectors
Key experience and skills required:
- Sound legal knowledge with in depth experience in that area of law and a high level of technical competence
- Ability to develop positive working relationships across the firm and with clients; gain the respect of colleagues.
- Ability to assess clients’ needs and offer practical guidance.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the Firm both internally and externally.
- Ability to work largely unsupervised.
- Ability to meet fee targets and achieve realisation rates.
- Work effectively with other team members and is able to supervise the work of those less qualified.
- Take a proactive approach to matter administration and completes monthly file review process for all matters where marked as fee earner on file.
- Proven networking skills and willingness to develop a client base.
