In just three weeks elite athletes worldwide will join in competition for coveted Olympic medals. Those athletes include Eilish McColgan who has qualified for a third successive Olympics where she will compete in the 10k and 5k distance races. She is only the third female Scottish athlete to do this in track and field events.
We announced our backing of Eilish in 2013 and have delighted in watching her achievements at the Commonwealth Games in both Glasgow 2014 and the Gold Coast 2018, and at World and European Championships over the last eight years.
Eilish has had great results in both pre-season training and races, securing a PB in the 10k (30:58) at San Juan Capistrano in February this year.
Our Chief Operating Officer, Ian Beattie had a chat with Eilish about a wide variety of topics, from her motivations to the biggest challenges she has faced through to motivating young girls into athletics and her opinion on the controversy surrounding spikes technology. Don’t miss your chance to watch the interview with her starting on 1 July 2021, every week day until 13 July 2021 on Twitter and Facebook.
You can see Eilish’s regular blogs and vlogs on our website here.
