We advise clients in all family law situations including those involving separation, divorce, children and financial issues.
Preliminary Advice Package
We understand that clients are understandably anxious to avoid uncertainty and unforeseen costs. Our preliminary advice package is designed to give you a clear understanding of your options and the remedies available to you in the event of separation including different methods of dispute resolution, all at a fixed fee.
Undefended Divorce Package
If you have children under 16 and have either no financial matters to deal with or have resolved all financial matters then an undefended divorce package would be appropriate for you.
Simplified Divorce Package
This package is appropriate for separating couples who have resolved all financial matters between them, have no children under 16 and have been separated for one year (where both agree to divorce) or two years (if the one party does not consent.)
Cohabitation Agreement
Cohabitants now have rights on separation and death. This package is suitable for couples who intend to live together but wish to regulate what will happen to their assets should they separate or in the event one of them dies.
Cohabitation agreements are particularly important for couples who are contemplating buying a property together with different contributions to the deposit and want to ensure that they know what will happen to that property in the event of separation or death.
Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements
Prenuptial agreements are appropriate and, indeed, advisable for people who have built up assets prior to their marriage. They are also suitable for people who have been married previously and wish to protect their assets for their children.
Postnuptial agreements are appropriate for people who wish to take steps after they are married to protect assets which are non-matrimonial but due to a change may become matrimonial.
The contents of a prenuptial or post nuptial agreement can vary widely but they usually deal with provisions for the division of property after the breakdown of a marriage or civil partnership.
